About

Welcome

Seva South Studio, founded by Charlotte Hampson, seamlessly intertwines art and yoga to promote holistic well-being. Charlotte's background in fine art painting from Wimbledon College of Arts, combined with her yoga teacher training in Brighton, forms the foundation of her unique approach.

After graduating in 2019, Charlotte delved into exploring the connection between creativity and wellness. This exploration led her to pursue a 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) in 2021, solidifying her commitment to merging art and yoga as vehicles for healing and self-expression.

In 2023, Charlotte furthered her expertise by completing 100 hours of Yin Yoga and Guided Meditation training at the esteemed Aegialis School of Yoga in Greece. This additional training enriched her practice and enabled her to offer a wider range of classes and experiences to her students.

Seva South Studio, operates out of the creative Life Won't Wait Tattoo Studio on Copnor Road in Portsmouth. Here, amidst creative energy, Charlotte conducts weekly classes for practitioners of all levels. Additionally, she offers beginner classes to introduce newcomers to the transformative power of yoga.

Charlotte enjoys collaborating with other facilitators and teachers to host extra special events such as sound baths, cacao ceremonies, equinox celebrations and more! These sessions provide immersive experiences for participants to delve deeper into relaxation, mindfulness, and self-discovery.

Slow Flow & Sound

IMG_1621.JPG

This is a very gentle, slow-paced class designed to help you unwind, release tension, and restore both body and energy - an “almost the end of the week” practice to soften, slow down, and reset.

We’ll move slowly and mindfully through a flowing sequence of poses, working the full body with an emphasis on ease rather than effort. The practice includes lots of seated and supine postures, held a little longer to encourage deep release, making this class especially supportive if your body is feeling tight, tired, or in need of care.

All props are available and encouraged (bolsters, cushions, straps, and blocks) so you can adapt the practice to how you’re feeling on the day. You’re invited to rest whenever you need and move in a way that feels nourishing for your body.

Sound Bath & Deep Relaxation

The class will finish with a mini sound bath, allowing you to rest comfortably while being immersed in sound for deep relaxation.

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you simply lie down and listen. The vibrations and tones of the instruments help calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and support deep rest. There’s nothing you need to do, just receive.

You’ll be guided into relaxation using a combination of:

    •    Universe & Venus gongs

    •    Crystal singing bowls

    •    Koshi chimes

    •    Shamanic drum

    •    Grounding shakers

The sounds work on a subtle level, helping release stress, restore balance, and leave you feeling grounded, calm, and deeply rested.

Who this class is for

    •    Anyone feeling stressed, overwhelmed, tight, or fatigued

    •    Those wanting a gentler alternative to faster-paced classes

    •    Beginners and experienced practitioners alike

    •    Anyone craving deep rest and nervous system regulation

No experience with yoga or sound healing is needed. This class is about slowing down, listening to the body, and allowing yourself to rest.

"Charlotte is a wonderful yoga teacher, who brings warmth and kindness to every class. She strikes a perfect balance between encouraging me to challenge myself, but also tap into the mindful benefits of yoga. I've attended both her yoga painting workshops and evening classes, and couldn't recommend them enough."
